Hi Again Rick,
You are correct--the grave at Rehburg Cemetery in Washington County is that of Wilhelm Kiel, Jr. born in 1828.The sister Karoline was born 8-26-1833.She married William Fischer at Berlin Lutheran Church in 1853 and after he died in 1864 she married his brother Friedrich Fischer, also at Berlin Lutheran Church.Your gggrandfather Heinrich Kiel was born in 1841 and of course buried in Lampasas. My brother in law David Hohlt has done research in the land and deed records of Washington County Texas and he says that Heinrich had extensive land holdings in Washington County at one time, but sold them all and moved.Don't know the reason for the move.
Irene Kiel, whose grave you also found at Rehburg, is the daughter of William F. Kiel and Caroline Turner, the oldest son of Wilhelm Kiel, Jr. and his first wife Sophie Mahlmann Kiel.
If you want the information I have on the Wilhelm Kiel, Jr. family, please let me know and give me a "snail mail" address and I will copy it and send it to you.
I am more and more convinced that Wilhelm Jr.and Heinrich were brothers. And the clue I found in the LDS Library seems to prove that I am on the right track.I still don't know what happened to Wilhelm, Sr. and his wife and I am beginning to believe that the records of Berlin Church which burned many years ago would solve that puzzle.Since those records were destroyed I will just have to find the information somewhere else.
