I ran across this obit and I’m posting it in case someone needs it. I have no further information on the person. Mrs. Franks The Portsmouth Times, Portsmouth, Ohio September 11, 1939, Monday Mrs. Mary Kiefer Death at 2:30 p. m. Sunday claimed Mrs. Mary Kiefer, 90, pioneer resident of Portsmouth, at the home of a niece, Mrs. Margaret Weidner, 510 Fifth Street. Mrs. Kiefer had made her home for 18 years in Chicago with her son, the late Louis Kiefer, former Portsmouth resident. For the last five years the had been living with her niece. Mrs. Kiefer was born in Cincinnati, but came to Portsmouth at the age of seven with her parents. Her father, the late Henry Behrens, conducted a grocery store on Market Street, near Third Street, for many years. She was married to Fred Kiefer, who preceded her in death. He was a well known cigarmaker and both Mr. and Mrs. Kiefer were widely known in the West End. A sister, Mrs. Sophia Wendt, and two brothers, Henry and John Behrens, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Wednesday at Lynns' funeral home, with Rev. Walter H, Dickhaut of Franklin Avenue Methodist Church, where Mrs. Kiefer was a faithful attendant, officiating. The body is at the Weidner residence, where it will remain unto the funeral hour. Notify Administrator about this message?
