Hello-
I found that the newspaper notice Dec 20,1915 reporting the death of Mrs.Archibald R.Kidd( Jessie Ritchie) gave her middle initial as "S" not "F" for Fremont as was reported in the family genealogy which was composed by descendants of the Ritchie family in the 1950s.
Would a direct descendant of Jessie Ritchie Kidd please look into family papers and contact me regarding this discrepancy.
I believe it may be an imortant clue in finding the Scottish parents of her mother,Margaret Hume.
"Fremont" is a most uncommon name.I wondered if it could have been Clement--and mispronounced over the years.It is apparently the middle name of Jessie Ritchie's brother,Peter Fremont Ritchie.(as given by his US descendants)
Seems somewhat unusual that two children would have the same middle name--but I could be wrong.
Please contact me personnally--if you can shed some light on this.
