Hi Sherri,I put the family genealogy away several years ago but let me tell you some general things. From the search of census records and marriage licenses it seems that William S. Kidd and his first wife(Mary Frances a.k.a Fanny) were living in Green County Kentucky with their first two children before the Forced Removal. William was born in cherokee territory in North Carolina and I think Fanny was born in Kentucky. Before the Trail of Tears there were few records kept by/on Native Americans so you can only follow the paper trail to 1838 or so.Fanny and William were then married in Southern Illinois about 1838 (I'd have to look in my records) then moved to central Illinois shortly after and lived in Waterford Illinois, I believe and had 7 children.Fanny fell in a creek and got sick one Winter and died.As is Cherokee tradition her children went to her family and William remarried and had two more children with a white woman.
I hope that information helps.
