Go to Google and look up "Pirate Facts and Legends Message Board", there are quite a few pirate historians who will give you info. I am hoping if you find further info about William Kidd in Jamaica, please let me know!
My family in Jamaica are the Bruces' from Greenock. Kidd was supposed to be from Greenock, but there is no record of him or his supposed father John. My GGGGgrandfather Hamilton Brown in Jamaica bought an estate called Minard and there was a Kidd family living in one of the houses. A Kidd even married one of his daughters! The first record of a Kidd born in Jamaica is in the 1690's. Father and mother were unknown. All the Scotish in Jamaica had scores of children with different woman. So the story is that this family came from William. Why not? He had riches to afford to take care ofwoman and kids he might have had while in the Caribbean.
This seems to be known only in Jamaica, but you can find definet records of this family. If you unearth anything, please let me know!
