Benjamin Kidd NC b. 1766>TN, Williamson
The earliest ancestor I can find is Benjamin Kidd b 1766 in NC, I have been told Caswell County.Caswell County North Carolina Deed Books 1777-1817, Abstracts by Katharine Kerr Kendall, page 281, shows, "Deed Book P, page 118-9: Benjamin Kidd of CC to Lemuel Hargrave of same, for 187 lbs 10s., 250 A on Rolie's fork County Line Cr adj Thomas Hart, James Williamson, 15 July 1806.Wit: James Williamson, William Hargrave, Lewis Barton sen."He is on the insolvency report for Caswell County that year which probably means that it is the year that he migrated to TN.
He died in Williamson County, TN in 1832 and his will lists the following heirs: wife, Nancy, children: Polly, Patsey, George, William, James and Jane.
I descend from son, William, who married Zilpha Kimbrough on December 23, 1809 in Williamson County, TN.
If you are a cousin, I will be happy to send you a photocopy of Benjamin's will found in the TN Archives.
I am hopeful of finding someone who can tell me the maiden name of Nancy, parents of Benjamin and whether he served in the Revolution.
Thanks, Bickie
