Keziah Family Genealogy Forum
Larry, you and I have had this conversation on several occasions...you can't just pick an ancestor whose name you think is similar and say, see, we're from this one. You have to show at the very least that they were in the same part of the world with your ancestors you CAN document at some time...and that's just to say there "may" be some connection. While I can't say for sure there is a connection between our ancestor and the Tuscarora, I can say the Tuscarora were at least in the same part of the world with people whose names show up in both our families right down through the years.
As for the Cashie myth...I'm not saying this is the case, but don't you think the white people who pushed the Tuscarora off their land would have some vested interest in making sure the Cashie story IS a myth? I'm not saying it isn't, I don't know, but I do know that the Kizziahs I've studied have a lot of the same names as the various Kizziahs that came from both Bertie County and from Mecklenburg, Orange and Union Counties. And I can trace mine back, same as you, to William who came to Alabama from Meck. in 1820.
As previously, I would question your scholarship, cousin.
