Pronunciation of Keyser: a query

I pronounce my name as Key-sir, but at one time I believe it was pronounced Key-sair. The common spelling Keyser, I have heard explained this way if they came from Holland they pronounced it to rhyme with geezer; and if they came from Germany they said it to rhyme with miser. The people of Keyser, West Virginia pronounce their town to rhyme with miser. Manhatten was settled by the Dutch, there were Keyser's there very early, I believe 1670's; it looks like they went up the Hudson River and settled west of Albany. Can anyone add their thoughts?
