Keys, Keyes, Key, Kays of Gowran, Powerstown, Pollagh & Goresbridge in Kilkenny.

Is anyone researching this family? My ancestors are from this family, mine were based in Gowran, but I believe the families in the district share a common ancestor.

My ancestor is John Keys (Married to Anne Kelly), immigrated to Australia in 1849-1850. His father was Thomas Keys (married to Ellen(or Nell) Gardner/Gardener/Gardiner.

The family was illiterate hence the many spellings of the surnames.

I would love to hear from any distant relatives.
Brendan Kays
