Please I would love a picture of Windie Knowe.I was born in Alabama but have lived the last 11 yrs. in Virginia and would love to seek out the old homeplaces/land. I too would gladly share my info. on the Keys.
I am a descendant of John C. Key (1676-1764) and Martha Tandy Key (1692-aft.1742) by their son Martin Rice Key, Sr. (b. 1715 Spotsylvania Co., VA & d. 4/11/1791 Albemarle Co., VA) and Nancy Anne Bibb (d. 1815 Orange, Albemarle, Co., VA).

Key was a descendant of Thomas Keyes (b. abt. 1520 in Lewisham, Settrington, Yorkshire, England & d. 9/8/1571 in Sandgate Castle, Kentish Coast, England). He was imprisoned by Elizabeth I for marryingher 2nd. cousin, Lady Mary Grey (b. 1544 & d. 4/20/1578), sister of the beheaded 9 day queen, Lady Jane Grey, without Elizabeth's permission. They married on 8/10/1565 in the Porter Rooms over the Watergate at Westminister. We are descended from Thomas's first wife since he and Mary had no offspring.
