Just looking back on this forum and saw that I seem to have missed responding to your posts, sorry! Thomas is the only ancestor I have traced to England on this line and I know little about him. I have traced the family of Thomas's daughter in-law (Armstrong)to Yorkshire, but this really indicates nothing about Thomas as her marriage took place in Canada. The name Kew seems to be quite rare so a connection is fairly likely but I haven't been able to document it. I wonder if the name was changed, maybe McKew or McKuen.
