I grew up in Cinti, Ohio. One of my great-great or just great grandfather's came to Ohio and became a police officer during the days of the copper buttons and horse and carriage. My grandfather, Bernie - guess it was short for Bernard (we called him Buie) Ketter married a Clara. He was a foundry worker near the Ohio River and lived in the Fairmount, Saylor Park area of Cincinnati. My father, Grover, nickname Bud lived near Cleves, Ohio on Bridgetown Rd. Just a short distance from the Ohio River. My grandfather told me a story once that the real name of Ketter was spelled Ketterer but they got tired of writing the extra "er" so it was dropped.
