Christina, We come from the same line.
1)Elbert Catron b. 1870 d. 1959
2)Simon Peter Cattron b. 1830 d.1903 wife Lucinda Jones. I too, have a ggreatgrandfather named Simon Peter. I believe it may be the same one. If it is, he fought in the Civil War for the South. My nephew had a foot stone layed at his grave. I will find out if this is the same person.
3)Christian Kettenring b.1784 d.Pulaski Co., Ky. Christian left his wife and their children and married a woman from Ky. They had 3 children.
4)Johann Michael Kettenring came to America on the ship "Chance". b.1735 in Salzwoog, Pfalz, Germany. d.1814 in Sullivan County, Tn. Michael fought in the Revolution. He had to change his name to receive his pension.
5)Johann Balthasar Kettenring

Scott Co., Va and Sullivan Co., Tn border. My father was also born in Scott Co., Va. Michael lived and died in Sullivan Co., Tn. If you have anymore questions let me know and I will try to get an answer for you. My brother wrote several booklets on Michael and the early Ketron's in this area. Don't know if he still has any or not, but is interesting reading. Good luck on your search.
