I know that your message appeared a long time ago, Tamsen, but I just saw it tonight.
Grier Kester was my grandfather. I remember Uncle Clarence and Aunt Hattie with great fondness. My grandfather was the assistant postmaster in Columbia for a very long time. He retired in the early 50's. My father, his youngest son, had the Chinese restaurant in Columbia, Kester's Bamboo House. My grandfather died in October, 1965, and my father died in April, 1966.
I don't remember ever meeting an Uncle John or a great aunt, but that doesn't mean that they didn't exist.
