MILSTEIN, BERGER, FOX, SMITH, MAURETH, KESSLER, FOWLER,….MT, OREGON, ND, CA?, AUSTRIA,
Can anyone PLEASE help me? I have so many pieces to this family puzzle that I must try to fit together…I think locating obituaries may help tie in all of the facts.
I, unfortunately have no access to ancestry.com files or $$$ for newspaper archives. (In fact, I'm still using good ole dial up on the computer…and lack many resources) The help of the community and message boards is my only hope! I need help locating obituaries!!
I'm desperately seeking the following obituaries:
1. Charlotte Maureth, Montana (Cascade County?) or possible Oregon (This is the one I need the most!)
2. Rhinehart Smith, Montana died Jan 30 in 1995 Civil Oregon-Cascade, MT
3. Fannie and/or Jack (Jacob?) Kessler, Montana
4. Charlotte Kessler (last name might have changed)
5. Donald or George Kessler

I am Still missing Charlotte's Maiden Name…one person suggested Milstein based on other research she found.
I cannot find WHO was Leo Berger's father? (Lemberg Austria)
Did he come to the USA with them when they immigrated here?
How can I learn whether or not Leo had siblings in Austria?

I have been researching my great grandfather's ancestry…trying, at least.
He was born in Lemberg Austria Hungry on Nov 22, 1893 and died Feb 21, 1978 in Gary, IN.
I don't even know where to begin. I have names..tons!
Acc. to his obituary, his brothers were: Jacob Fox, Rhinehart Smith...sisters: Frieda Fowler, Lonnie Emeline, and Clara Davis. (These were their married "changed" names, I assumed)
His children were Arlene, Orrin, Dorothy, and Bessie. (Bessie was my grandmother)
Leo married into the Kasin family (which I have tons of info on)...but I have NO idea who Leo's parents were... I found a photo indicating that his mother was dying in Mont...and family in Oregon.

Further research indicated that Leo's mom had been married several times (could explain my luck with men..lol)
Anyway, I found census records with the following info:
My primary focus is on gaining info on Leo Berger and his mom and dad….and siblings!!
5. Charlotte Milstein? Berger, Fox, Smith, Maureth (great grandpa's mom and dad?)
4. Leo (possibly 'Leopold' Berger) + Julia Helen Kasin (My grandma's mom and dad)
3. George Andros Sr. + Bessie Lucille Berger (my grandparents-dad's side)

The names DO, in fact, coincide with my great-grandfathers family members.

Would love to learn more about Leo Berger while he lived in Lemberg Austria Hungary…Who was his father? Was his mother's name, in fact, Milstein? Did Leo leave behind other siblings or relatives when he came to the USA? His half-siblings (or their descendents) might know the answers! Why was his mom married so many times? Why did she leave Austria? SOOO many questions!
