Updated Information - Joseph Enos and Silas Kessinger
Hello Family,
I have been on a search of family documents to prove my acceptance into the Sons of the American Revolution. In doing this task I have ran into some information that I want to share with you.
Joseph E. Kessinger (death record) is not in the records in Montgomery County, but is buried in Clear Springs Cemetery, Montgomery County, Illinois.
Silas Kessinger (death record) is not in the records in Montgomery County, but is also buried in Clear Springs Cemetery, Montgomery County, Illinois.
I just seen both today and have the pictures of the stones. Now, the fun part.
Silas Kessinger did die in 1882, in fact it was on September 07, 1882. The stone reads that he died on that date, and was 65 years and 10 days old.
If I am wrong in my figuring, that would make his birthday October 29, 1817.
All the search information on him I have seen is either 1816 or 1818. We now have an exact date for him.
Thought I would share this, plus I have digital pics of the stones if anyone would need them.
I am still looking for documentation of Solomon Kessinger on the Ohio River trip with George Rogers Clark to Corn Island. I have found the record of 400 acres entitlement to him in 1782. Any help in the other documentation would be appreciated.
With my best regards,
Cousin Danny
