Interested in information about the family of Margaret Kerwin, of Connaught Street Athlone, who married George Clout, Private Farrier of the 4th Light Dragoons on 25 12 1848 at St Peter's Athlone. At the time George Clout was stationed in Athlone with his regiment. He was a widower with three teenage boys. Margaret was the daughter of James Kerwin, a mason. Margaret's sister Bridget Kerwin was one of the witnesses. The other was Richard Mathews. Margaret and George ended up in Ipswich, Suffolk and had four children. Bridget also went to Ipswich, presumably accompanying Margaret when the regiment moved on, and married there. Margaret died in 1875 in Ipswich aged 48 years.
