KERVIN, Thomas DOB ~ May 1845
My Thomas Kervin was born in Ireland about May 1845. He came to the US in 1863 and married Anna CLONEY, DOB 1829, (nee' McGRATH, maybe) in 1865. They had 3 children - Mary DOB 1866 in NJ or IL, Lawrence 1868-1888 (died of TB), and William Thomas Aug. 1870-March 1938. (Mary probably died before 1900.) Thomas and Anna lived in Springfield, Sangamon Co. IL from at least 1870 until their deaths 1 March 1905 for Thomas and Sept. 1909 for Anna. In fact, they lived on E. Washington at either 911 or 1124 from 1880 until their deaths and their son William raised his family there for quite some time. Family lore says that Anna Cloney sent money to bring Thomas over from Ireland when her husband, Patrick Cloney, died. (Cloneys were supposedly from Co. Wexford.)She appears to have arrived in the US in 1861 but things are fuzzy until Thomas and Anna appear in the 1870 IL census. Thomas has been extremely hard to find because in the 1900 IL census he's under KERRIN, in the 1880 IL census he's under CAVRON and in the 1870 IL census he's under CAVON. And we always thought he was hiding from the census takers! :) Does this fit in with anyone?
