My wife's grandfather was Albert J. Kersting b. about 1872 in, we believe, Minnesota. I recall seeing a document that said his father was from Berlin, but I don't remember what or where it was. Albert was in Mexico in the early 1900's working for the railroad. He married Henriqueta Hernandez and they had 4 daughters and 1 son. I have document where he was registered as an American citizen in Guatemala City at the American consulate in 1917. At some point the family returned to the United States and lived in Sugarland, Texas. Following Albert's death, Mrs. Kersting returned to Mexico with 3 of their daughters. Their son, George joined the army, the 4th daughter married and remained in the U.S.. It may be possible they were related to your Frances Kersting, but I have no more information on this family at this time. I am interested in learning more.
