My mother Laura was a Kerslake from Sampford Peverel, near Tiverton. She was born in 1912, the second youngest of fourteen children. Her father's name was Fredrick (a lime burner by profession)and her mother's name was Annie (nee Salter). Sometime between the wars, I believe after my grandfather's death, my grandmother moved to Uffculme with the younger children, where she became the local baker.

If this is of interest I can provide more information about my uncles and aunts. Of Fred and Annie's children the youngest daughter (Vesta) is the only one still alive and living in Uffculme.
