Laurel,
I am descended from James Daniel Kersey, the youngest child of John and Nancy Kersey who lived in Emanuel County, Ga.
I have a question. Are you saying that the parents of the John B. Kersey that married Lydia Burris were John B. Kersey and Nancy Fowler?
John B. "Peg-Leg" Kersey (the one that married Sarah Ann Burris) was the son John and Nancy Kersey who lived in Emanuel County, Ga.They stated on the 1850 Emanuel County, Ga. census that John was born in North Carolina abt. 1784 and Nancy was born in South Carolina in abt. 1788.
It was told in my branch of this family that John came from Spain and his wife, Jane, sailed from England on her 14th birthday, but if the 1850 Emanuel County, GA. census is accurate, then that can't be true.
It has also been told that John B. "Peg-Leg" Kersey came from England in 1825 when in fact he was born in Emanuel County, Ga. in 1825.
Do you have documentation that Nancy was a Fowler?
John B. "Peg-Leg" had a son named John that I've been searching for.Is he the one that married Lydia Burris?
Thanks for your help, Virginia
