KERRS FROM ADAMS COUNTY PA TO HARRISON COUNTY OH
I’m looking for information about James Kerr and wife Nancy (or Agnes).Especially interested in this couple and their ancestors in eastern PA and before.
Here is what I know so far (some from secondary sources only) about this particular James Kerr (1751 - 1825) and his wife Nancy (1751 - 1836).They lived in that part of York County, PA which became Adams County in 1787 when son James, Jr. was born; also there in 1792 when son Samuel born. The family evidently spent a short time in Westmoreland County but moved on to Short Creek Twp., Harrison County, OH about 1805 (he bought land in 1809 there.)Both James, Sr. and Agnes died in Harrison County.James, Sr. will mentions wife, Nancy, children John, James, William, Samuel, Mary, Jane and Betsey (in that order); grandchildren are Alexander Morrow, Nancy Ann Morrow.
Son James, Jr. (the line I’m trying to track) married Catherine Duff in Belmont County, OH in 1809 - 8 children with John Carrick Kerr, eldest.James Jr. with 2nd wife Martha Morrison moved to Logan County OH (near Bellefontaine) where he died in 1846.
Will appreciate any information about this family.Tom Bay, Columbus, OH
