DNA Project?
Has anyone in the KERR group thought of doing a KERR DNA project like some other surnames are doing?
I've received partial results of our Cowan DNA project and the results are very interesting.
It's helping me verify links to other branches of the family.
For those of us who are having trouble pushing back our Kerr lines, this could be very valuable. In my case, I don't know who my great-great-grandfather's parents are.I only know he was born 1819 in Pittsburgh. Now, if I was able to link a male Kerr in my line with other Kerrs, I'd have something to try to start working with from the known information of other Kerr members.
The DNA surname project analyzes the DNA of MALE members of a surname and can be run on 12 or 25 markers. As a member of a surname project, the tests are slightly cheaper.
For information on the surname projects, go to:

If anyone sees some value in this, I guess I could agree to be the "coordinator" for the Kerr surname ... or someone else could get it started.
Would be nice ....
