Hi Jim,I can't remember whether we've corresponded before. But, I thought I would add here .. that I have a set of Dawson Kerr's on my family tree also.
As per my postings, around 1825, four Kerr siblings (3 married w/children) left Ireland and migrated to Canada. They settled in the Lachute/Lakefield area (Argenteuil County) of Quebec Province. My ancestor was Patrick Kerr, b1797 Ireland. His wife was Elizabeth Kerr; we don't know her maiden name. One of their sons, William Kerr married an Elizabeth Beattie. One of William and Elizabeth's sons was ... Dawson Kerr, b1844 in Argenteuil County. He died in 1889 in Mille Isles.
Also according to Mr. Metcalf's (Canada) research, this Dawson Kerr grew up to marry Mary Ann Morrison. One of their sons was .. Dawson Kerr, b1877.
I also have a note that a Robert Kerr b1848 married Mary Emma Linley, and one of their sons was ... Dawson Kerr, b1886.
I believe I also read a query someplace .. that a Dawson Kerr, about the same age as the four Kerr siblings above, first settled in NB or NS, and then migrated to Argenteuil County. He only lived there for a year .. before moving on.I am curious if he was related to siblings, Mary, Patrick, Elizabeth, and John Kerr.
