Hello
unfortunately I am not related to you,I am from a long line of Irish Kerrs' but at one stage in my life I used to live near lochwinnoch and I thought I might give you some pointers to help you
Have you tried looking for your ancestor on the Scots Origins website?
Paisley library also has some good resources.
Lochwinnoch is still a relatively small village, about 2000 people , in 1833 it was a coach stopping point between the coast & Paisley/Glasgow.
also the Loch there has only been there for about 30years
(it's man made).
Lochwinnoch - town
"LOCHWINNOCH, town and parish in south-west border of Renfrewshire. The town stands near Castle-Semple Loch, 9 3/4 miles south-west of Paisley; carries on considerable manufacture; and has a post office, with money order and telegraph departments, designated of Renfrewshire, a railway station, a banking office, Established, Free, and United Presbyterian churches, and 2 public schools with about 323 scholars. Pop. 1192."
[From The Gazetteer of Scotland, by Rev. John Wilson, 1882.]
there is a family society which might be able to help you
Lochwinnoch History Society, if you locate the number in the British Telecom website- phonebook you could check to see if these people might be bale to help
