May - "Find Kerr Families Month" :o)
Hello,Earlier this month, out of the sky blue, a half-dozen Kerr descendants contacted me, and I went from knowing very little about my Kerr ancestor.. to finding out I have "distant Kerr cousins" all over Quebec Province. My ancestor was Patrick Kerr, who appears to have left Ireland around 1820 and migrated to Quebec, Canada. And, he probably came over with at least two sisters, and they settled in North Gore, Quebec.I have also found out that his son, Robert Kerr, married into a HENDERSON family, which also was a big family in North Gore. There is a man in Canada who has done extensive research on the descendants these Kerr and Henderson families.(FYI:North Gore is a town, also known as Lakefield, near Lachute, in Argenteuil County, Quebec.)There also appear to be many Kerr families centered around Richmond, Ontario, south of Ottawa. And, there also appear to be many Kerr families centered around Richmond, Quebec - near Sherbrooke. These Kerr families came from both Scotland and Ireland in the early 1800's.
