I'm looking for my husband's Kerr ancestors from northern Ireland but don't know much about them. Here's what I know:
John Kerr, his gr grandfather, born circa 1846, came from N. Ireland to Philadelphia and was naturalized there in 1877 and married Agnes Hamilton, also from Ireland.
John's brother, Robert, was naturalized in 1874 and settled in New York.
They later brought their sisters to the US from Ireland: Essie, Katherine "Kate," Margaret, Elizabeth and one other.
John's son, William Kerr, was my husband's grandfather. Other children of John and Agnes were John, Mary, Anna, Elizabeth "Lizzie," and Sarah "Sadie." All stayed around Phila. and descendants don't know anything about Robert Kerr's New York branch.
Glad to share more info about descendants if you think this is part of your family.
