Thank your for your reply.I have been gathering up the census records for all Kerns/Carnes in the SC KY area in an attempt to align the family groups.I was toying with the idea Isham could be the son of Job, named for his grandfather Isham Clark. The 1810 census for Job shows 4 boys under 10 (b 1800-1810) and 1 girl under 10.In 1830 I find Job listed with 2 boys 15-u20 (b 1810-1815), 4 boys 20-u30 (b 1800-1810), no girls listed. No amount of searching has turned up an 1820 census record.I only have Job Jr. as a named child of Job Sr.
Although Isham lists his father b in NC in his census record in 1880, he did name one of his sons Job. Another perplexing bit of information is his census listing in 1840 shows 2 boys u5 (b 1835-1840), but in 1850 he shows up as age 44 with a 24 year old wife and his children listed are all under age 8.Was he married before; what happened to the 2 boys?
Once I enter the information and can coordinate it, perhaps it will help a little. But I agree with you, if he's not a son of Job, then he probably is the son of Ralph, who shows one son u5 in 1810, unless this turns out to be Ralph's son John.Stay tuned, and thanks again!
