Thanks for your reply, can I suggest that you look to see if there is a Church of the Latter Day Saints [the Mormons]in Glasgow. They usually have a Family History Centre attached where you can examine filmed records. You could try www.Familysearch.com, you might find something there.
The FHC is where I have obtained a lot of my information on Ireland including the Civil Register. They should hold, or be able to get copies of films of Marriage Registers, you need to look in the period of 1855 backwards until you find the relevant entries for John Mongomery and Agnes Irvine, they will have identical references. It would be easier to look for Agnes first as the least common of the two names. I have looked in either end, i.e. 1856-57 and 1845-46, nothing there as I said in my last e.mail. This won't give you detail but will tell you in which area they were married and you can work on from there. If you can't get anything there the only thing you can do is take a trip over to the PRO in Belfast.
