Hello Matthew,
Could you please tell me what the source was for the 1755 birthdate of Jacob Kerlin? I found several of his siblings listed in the St Gabriels Church records, but not his.
Also, have you ever determined who the father of John Kerlin Sr (1722-1812) was? I see different researchers listing Peter, Jacob, Metgen, etc. but can't find anyone who actually has a solid source for their information. The earliest tax record for Amity Twp, Berks Co PA in 1752 lists a John Kerlin and a Peter Kerlin. This Peter could be a father, brother or cousin. I can't find a connection to the Chester Co. Kerlin's, but though perhaps you had more success on this line.
I am descended from Jacob Kerlin's son John who married Elizabeth Zell in Shenandoah Co VA. I corresonded with a Jim Getz about ten years ago - I assume he is related to you? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
