Looking for more information about Dr. Kerlin who died during the civil war. Served briefly as Surgeon for the Fifth Iowa Volunteer Cavalry, for which I host a website at http://www.scriptoriumnovum.com/c.html

American Patriotism (published in 1869) relates that his widow was residing in D.C. at that time. The doctor had a pre-war practice in Polk County, Iowa.
