One of my earliest Kerlin ancestors actually spelled his name Keurlis, and I believe the were originally Dutch.They were living in Krefeld, Germany when they decided to settle in Germantown PA; as part of the "Original 13"; 13 familes that came over from Klefeld in the Concord in 1683.
