I do not know anything about Kerchers other than in Shelbyville, IN. I am starting my search as of yesterday to find my family background. My grandfather, Dale Charles Kercher lived in Shelbyville, IN and was a test pilot in World War II. He died in the spring of 1944. My father, Dale Charles Kercher, Jr.(now Dale Charles Gantz) was born in October 1943 and his last name was changed when my grandmother, Donna Kersey Kercher(later Donna Kersey Gantz)got re-married to the only grandfather I knew, Bryant S. Gantz. I know this is a long shot, but have you heard of any Kerchers in Shelbyville or Shelby County, IN? If not, do you have any clues to help me start my search? Unfortunately, my father was given much information through the years and my grandmother has been gone for 5 years or so.
