Linda: I'm surprised, because I thought the first Caplinger was George, son of George and grandson of Johannes. I also didn't know Paul's family had gone "south". That seems possible, however, because of his wife's problem. All my info is on my old Mac which ocasionally freezes or the printer won't print., but I'll try to look it up again. Not successful, but was J Christopher a Rev. War soldier?

Sponsors were required at baptisms and some were days later, to see, I understand, if the child lived. These dates were all headed "Tag" on the old pages but "geburt" on the modern compilation, so I made some assumptions. Janet
