Linda I do not know if this relates to you in any way (pun intended), but just yesterday, I received a packet with a lot of photographs I purchased. In it, there are two photographs, maybe more, that are of members of a Kephart family in PA. One is an old cabinet photo- probably late 1880s to mid 1890s- of a rather startled looking gentleman. On the back is written "My Father Emmanuel Kephart." At an earlier time and in a differennt hand, someone has also handwritten an address that appears to be "9930 Caldwell." This is over the photographers imprint that reads "Emile F. Vogt Photographer 102 East Ohio Street, Allegheny, Pa." There is a second photograph of a very dapper and seemingly well-to-do young couple that appears to be on their wedding day. He is in black tux and she in white gown. On the reverse, there is handwritten "Mr. & Mrs. H.P. Kephardt [My brother Harry & Wife]." Below this is also "This picture was taken several years before I was married in 1901." There is another photograph of the same woman with her brother Harry that, while the photo is intact, the surrounding card has unfortunately cracked and broken. What can be read, and there is a lot of writing, pertains to the family history about ages, Pittsburgh, and the destruction to the house by terrible storm on May 20th, that hit the house with hail stones. (She has actually drawn a chart showing the sizes of the hail stones that broke all the windows!) There is also a cabint photo from "F.E. Boyd Photographer" of Pittsburgh, of awoman simply name "Aunt Mary." This can be dated to 1902 by the 2¢ George Washington carnelian stamp attached. There are also photos from a Bongard family as well as a soldier named Fred Gross. If you think that these may offer you any help, please email me. (Please note that I am not attempting any sort of scam here, I simply want to help get some photos back to their real homes.) Take good care, Linda Talley Notify Administrator about this message?
