Ray, you have made my day! Your postings on GenForum tell me that you know what you are talking about, my friend. I have really wanted to contact you, and am so appreciative of your response. It may prove to be more than you want, but I am going to email a narrative I wrote for my immediate family in 2002, as well as several more essays or narratives completed more recently. One truth I found about tracing one's family history - the task is like life itself; the more you learn, the more you realize how little you know! I would sincerely appreciate any info you have. The lady who has served as my mentor, Evelyn Morgan Shahan, died in October of 2008. I found out 3 weeks ago that she willed to me all of her materials on the KEOWN, SHAHAN, MORGAN, PURYEAR and Cavender surnames. I have hardly begun to scratch the surface of the documents, letters, books, maps, wills deeds, etc consisting of 10-12 large cartons. Lately for me, each day has been like Cristmas morning. Unbelievable....and I am more than willing to share! Represents her 40 years of work. Please don't allow me to frighten you off with the volumes of my emails. I am in the process of doing a total re-write of the 2002 narrative to include all the new info now available to me. I hope to complete it by the end of the year. I am 75 years old, and don't even buy green bananas, so I am pushing to complete it and will provide you a copy..Christamas of this year perhaps? We need to talk, and I will be kind emough to try not to dump everything on you at once! However, I will begin sending you some of the materials by email tonight. I am 75 years old, widowed and retired, and reside in Springville, AL. Chattanooga, TN is my home, but I married an Alabama girl (now decease) in 1960. Am truly looking forward to our new relationship. David Byron Keown Notify Administrator about this message?
