Larkin C. Keown Book - Creditable?

I'm wondering if anybody can tell me if Larken C. Keown's book is creditable? Does he just list information? Does the book have a bibliography? Does he use primary sources?

My great-grandmother is Lille Mae Keown Isler and I desend from James Alexander Keown.
