I noticed the posting, and once again felt the amazement that I felt when I first saw this message (a photocopy back in the 1980's- when we had to use snail mail to get info). It MUST be noted that this info is very incorrect, as is later noted by Larkins short publication. The first Sons of Thomas are John and Robert! This little missle from the distant past caused me months of searching, trying to fit it together. Only when I received a photocopy of the manuscript Larkin later published, did I FINALLY get the facts and everything fell into line. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SONS OF THOMAS 1 WERE JOHN AND ROBERT (the sons of the Thomas 2 in this Larkin message are actually the sons of Robert. Robert in turn had 11 children in all. He, as far as I can tell, considered a place far too crowded if there were 10 families in a single county. My great grandfather was his last child a son - Capt. James Levi Keown (16 MO Inf. CSA). The eldest son of Robert was Thomas Jordan Keown who had sons who served the Yankee cause. There was also a Robert Lewis, Samuel, John, and six others who excape me at this moment. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT INFORMATION SENT OUT IS FOOTNOTED IF IT IS KNOWN TO BE INCORRECT! I only am upset because I know first hand how incorrect info can cause tons of useless work.
