Hi Mary! Thanks for your reply! This is wonderful news! My father used to tell me when I was a child that our name was "Kehoe" because "Keogh" was German. Obvioulsly he had things and spellings mixed up, but I think the point he was taught is that we were the Irish "Kehoes". My oral family History says that we moved to north Wexford from Wicklow in the mid 1700s, which may also rule out the Palatine origin. My alles are posted on Ysearch FSH3F. I am R1b1b2a1b L21+. To make things easier, I'm R-21+. By far the most common haplogroup in Ireland. I have 68 markers tested so far, and nine more on the way. I match much more with Scots than I do Irish. When I do have Irish matches, they are from the areas of Leitrim, Cavan and Fermanagh. My closest match at the moment is a man with a Scots name "Greenlee" who tested with Ancestry.com We are a 34/34 match at the moment. The nine markers I am currently having tested will bring us up to 43 markers tested in common.I also match 25/25 with another Greenlee from FTDNA. I have no close matches outside of the British Isles. I would suggest going with FTDNA and joining the Ireland Heritage DNA Project. I believe they are currently running Christmas Specials. Thank you!! What a Christmas gift this is!! Please keep in touch!! Thanks, Miles Kehoe Notify Administrator about this message?
