Hi, Bill,
I am tracing the descendants of Owen Keogh and Mary Galligan of Co Cavan.I am not as lucky as you knowing where they came from. They arrived in Ontario by 1822.
The name Owen is a little unusual, and one wonders if our Owen's might not be cousins of some sort.Would you consider having your Y-Dna read?I am going to our Keogh reunion this summer, where about 700 will be celebrating our Keogh family.I am taking up a collection to have one of our men do this test.Ancestry is offering it right now for $79, quite a bargain from earlier pricing.I'd love to compare yours with ours to see if there is any connection. What do you think?I sure would appreciate it. Let me know if you need any information. It is really easy to do.We did it for my father's family and made some connections to some families with the same name, but no paper trail (Berst), and it was a lot of fun. It would also give you an idea of where in the world your branch originated, whether it is more German, Celtic, or even Viking in origin.
