Keoghville House, Co. Roscommon, 1800-48
My mother's family of Keoghs were landowners in the parish of Taughmaconnell, Co. Roscommon, until the late 1840's. Their home, Keoghville House, was situated in the townland of Carrownkeeran. They also owned another house, KeoghvilleLodge, nearby. The family had owned land in this area for centuries. My gr-grandfather, John L. Keogh, emigrated 1st to England (London) in 1851, then to Old Forge, PA in 1865. One prominent member of this family was John's 2nd cousin, Sir Alfred Keogh, head of the British Army Medical Corps during WW1. I would very much enjoy hearing from any other descendants of these Keoghs. Thank you.
