I have been trying to track down the parents of Lyman Kenyon / Kinyon / Kinion. The early spelling of his name may well have been Kinion, as written in the book, "Eugene Frederick Hulbert..." by Darlene Ward Paxton.
Perhaps, I too quickly pushed aside the Kinion spelling to concentrate on the later Kenyon spelling. Lyman indicated on census reports that his father came from Wales.
I have been trying to find his parents for nearly two years. Maybe the key is in the early spelling of his surname, "Kinion." Perhaps his ancestors did come from Wales and I have walking down the wrong path trying to link him up with the New York Kenyons, who largely migrated from Rhode Island and CT.
That said, perhaps one of you may have a clue as to a new direction I should consider or better, perhaps you may have one of Lyman's siblings right in your ancestry. Lyman was born about 1815, which Lyman reported in census records as in New York.
I am aware of the book, "From Kenyons of England to Kinions of America Kinion," Wayne Arthur, 1930-. I have not read it. Maybe one of you can tell me where I can locate it or give me a review of it.
Any information you may have is appreciated.
