War of 1812 Veterans who were Kenyons/ Kinyons/

I am putting together a list of Kenyons / Kinyons who served in the War of 1812. If one of your ancestors or Kenyon, whom you are aware served in this war, I would appreciate knowing his name, and any of the following information you may have.

Additional military information, which would be useful includes his rank, company in which he served, state served,or state he requested a pension. If he was decorated, killed in the war, or a prisoner of war, that information is important, too.

Personal information, which would be helpful in identifying him would be his date/place of birth, death, marriages, and where he is buried. Any other pertinent personal information, such as where he lived during his life is helpful.

I realize that you may not have all of this information. If all you have is his name, just give me that. If you have any additional information listed, include that, as well.

(As an aside, I am also compiling a list of Kenyons who fought in the American Revolution. If you have information for a veteran who fought in that war, I would also be interested in it. However, it seems to be much easier to locate information on those who served in the American Revolution. The War of 1812 is more of a forgotten war and unfortunately, many of our ancestors who fought in the War of 1812 have not received the recognition they so richly deserve.)

Any help you can give is appreciated.

Marilyn Kenyon
