I tried to find something on Sheffield Enos, and did not find it online. But your reply answered the question of why I did not find it.
Sheffield Enos married Anna Lewis first. Anna Lewis (1802-1824) So the fact that she died in 1824 and is buried in Unadilla Forks, Town of Plainfield, New York, says to me that Sheffield came to Unadilla Forks around 1823 or so. I have a photo of the tombstone with Sheffield, and his wives and his brother on it. His brother being James Kenyon Enos. It also lists Sheffield Enos being born in Rhode Island,
Sheffield Enos owned land, and was also the Deacon of the Baptist church in Unadilla Forks, NY
Tombstone reads:
Sheffield Enos 1798-1881
his wives
Anna Lewis 1802-1824
Harriet Wilcox 1802- 1893
James Kenyon Enos
his brother
1794-1869
