I was able to track Lucien Kenyon back a couple generations by looking at the SSDI (Social Security Death Index) and Federal Census records for 1870, 1900, and 1920. First, the SSDI lists one one Lucien Kenyon: b. 1 Mar 1913, d. Nov 1967 at ZIP = 13066 (Fayetteville, NY). The 1920 census shows him, age 6, b. NY, living with his parents, Harry S., age 39 b. NY, and Jane E., 31 b. NY. Other sibs are Justin, fem., 11, Russell, 10. The father-in-law, George Russell, 72 b. NY, was also living with them. They were living at 520 N. State St., in Syracuse.
The 1900 census for Syracuse NY shows Harry S. Kenyon, b. Aug 1879 NY, living with his parents, S. Bentley Kenyon, b. May 1853 NY and M. Justine, b. May 1857 NY. Also in the household is brother Mason P., b. Nov 1886 NY, sister Gladys M., b Jul 1889 NY, and bro. Frank, b. Oct 1892 NY. Also living with them was Bentley's stepmother, Amarilla Kenyon, b. Mar 1830, NY. They lived in Syracuse, NY.
The 1870 census lists the following Syracuse, Ward 3, NY household:
Mason Kenyon, 48, b. NY, blacksmith
Amerilla Kenyon, 40, b. NY
Bentley Kenyon, 17, b. NY, bookkeeper
Otis Kenyon, 12, b. NY, in school
John Dorrily, 22, b. NY, gardener
I would be quite interested in learning about earlier generations, as I haven't been able to learn who Mason's parents were.
