Unfortunately the format of this forum does not allow one to edit one's messages - so as we add and subtract names the thread may get messy.

Between us we now have 43 entries, which is 12 more than the usual figure given.

What I can tell you is that the figure of 32 was measured from the proclamation of the state of Emergency in October 1952 until January 1956. However, as both of us know, the Emergency was not revoked until 12 January 1960.

What we now see clearly is:

* We don't have access to the original list of 32 names. And
* We must therefore define what is a 'Settler' death at the hands of Mau Mau.

I am going to work through your list, and revert to you with comments on individual cases.
