I am not sure of the date of arrival of the Garvie family at what was later to become Eldoret. They were allocated land in 1904 already (Colonial Reports - Annual, East Africa Protectorate, 1910-11, page 85)... Donald and Cornelia Garvie's daughter Dorothy was born during the Nandi Revolution at Kapsabet on the 18th February 1905. Donald and his family later settled in Nairobi where he died.
