Maree Gertrude Bruhn-Bailey (mother)
I am searching for relatives of my mother who died at age 26 in 1945.
My mother had been married to Stanley Tipper of the Royal Air Force and had 2 children, Malcolm and Richard. She was divorced from Mr. Tipper and married Arthur Smith (my father), a Canadian soldier during the 2nd World War. I was born in Littlehampton, England on Dec 21, 1943.
My mother apparently was an interpreter for the British Consulate. Her family (I understand) was in Nairobi. I believe her father was involved with the rail road and may have been an architect.
Although I was only 1 1/2 years of age when my mother died and I have always had a deep feeling of love for Africa and particularly East Africa. My parents (who raised me) told me nothing of my mother and in fact told me that my step mother was actually my real mother.
Apparently my grand mother, who I remember only as "Nanny" had correspondence with my mother's family in Africa.
I would be gratefull if I could find some family connection to my mother, who I know in my heart was a wonderful person, from a country that has a piece of my heart.
