Allen Kenworthy, b. abt 1819 Ohio, lived Boone Co., Ind
I am trying to sort out some census records in Boone Co, Ind. In 1850:
1850: 7th District, Boone, Indiana, Series: M432 Roll: 136 Page 189
D1798, F1820, Allen Kenworthy, 32, M, Farmer, 3000, O
Mary Kenworthy, 28, F, O
Sarah Kenworthy, 6, F, Ind
William Kenworthy, 4, M, Ind
Ellen Kenworthy, 3, F, Ind
John Kenworthy, 1, M, Ind
William Kenworthy, 72, F, Farmer, Penn.
Nathaniel Titus, 18, M, Laborer, O
1860: Thorntown P.O., Sugar Creek Twp, Boone, Indiana, Series: M653Roll: 245Page: 887
D638, F623, Allen Kenworthy, 40, M, Farmer, 9124, 4293, O[hio]
Elizabeth Kenworthy, 36, F, Ind
Squire L. Kenworthy, 16, M, do [Ind]
Oliver H. Kenworthy, 14, M, do [Ind]
Ellen Z. Kenworthy, 23, F, O[hio]
There are additional record in 1870 and 1880, similar to 1860. I believe that William Kenworthy (age 72 in the 1850 record) may be Allen’s father, although I thought perhaps William was born in NC rather than Penn. William died in 1854 in Boone County, Ind.
I have seen a marriage record listed for Allen Kenworthy and Elizabeth Long in Montgomery County, Ind., dated 23 Jan 1843. I cannot find records of more than one Allen Kenworthy in Indiana at that time, so I am wondering if these are one in the same. But if so, what became of the family members from 1850, and where were the 1860 family members in 1850?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.
Allan Kenworthy
