I have noticed this empty forum for a while now and thought I might start the ball rolling!
This particular spelling, Kentwell, appears to to have flourished in Australia but (as far as I know) has died out in the UK from where it originated.
William Kentwell, baptised in 1761, son of Richard Kentwell and Martha Capper, was transported to Australia in 1791.
Does anybody know Richard's origins? Was Richard's name Kentwell or Cantwell or some other variation? Are there Kentwells elsewhere? If so, what is their origin?
